It is a natural and architectural masterpiece that was declared part of the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997. It reopened to the public in 2007 after completing the EU’s largest cultural restoration project to date.
The monumental palace, is home to some of the finest examples of universal Baroque: the enchanting Hall of Diana designed by Amedeo di Castellamonte, the breathtaking Great Gallery and the solemn Church of St. Hubert, the grandiose complex of the Juvarra Stables designed by Filippo Juvarra in the 18th century, the sumptuous decorations, the famous Bucentaur and the spectacular Fountain of the Stag in the Court of Honor.
The Gardens of the Reggia, with their archeological remains and contemporary artworks, bring together ancient and modern charm. The views that open up far into the distance are unparalleled among Italian gardens for the majesty of the scenarios and the vastness of the surrounding natural scenery that extends from the thick forests of the Park of La Mandria to the mountain peaks of the Alps.
The young Gardens of Venaria were inaugurated in 2007 and – like a teenager entering a crucial phase of life – their distinctive features are starting to show in their layout as nature evolves over time, offering a unique example of historical gardens in Europe. Portofino – The City
Portofino is a cosmopolitan holiday resort wrapped up in an aura of nostalgia for the 60s, the years during which the village started shaping into the luxury travel destination it is now. It managed to maintain the original allure of a fishing village that is abundant in local customs and traditions.
La Piazzetta (Portofino’s main square) is adjacent to the port and buzzes with life and people, filled as it is with yachts and upmarket restaurants. The alleys around the port feature boutiques and eateries, creating a district of quaint buildings interspersed with art galleries.
From La Piazzetta, a walk through unspoiled nature leads to some of the highlights of this fishing hamlet. Then from the ancient San Giorgio’s church head to Castle Brown and its beautiful garden and culminate your experience at the lighthouse.
The best appearance of Portofino can only be captured on foot or by boat. If you’re travelling by the sea, a postcard-like view will open up in front of you, disclosing the colourful harbour and the majestic promontory.

The Wales Sanctuary
The Ligurian Sea, with its high depths and the presence of submarine canyons, represents one of the most important marine protected areas of the Mediterranean Sea. And it is just off the Ligurian coast that the Cetacean Sanctuary is located, a destination for many species of marine mammals and the best place to admire these large vertebrates in their natural environment.
The Whale Watching activity (observation of whales and dolphins in their natural environment) is a unique and engaging experience that will thrill young and old, from animal lovers to amateur or professional nature photographers.
The excursion alternates between fun and scientific dissemination, under the guidance of a trained team consisting of a crew, a marine biologist, an experienced Sanctuary whalewatcher, a photographer and researchers from various research institutes.
The team will accompany you along the way by providing interesting information on the Sanctuary, marine mammals and the consequences of the anthropogenic impact on their environment; will be available to answer any questions or curiosities, making the experience not only a pleasure trip, but also an opportunity to learn.
The activity will last approximately 4 hours from the last port of embarkation.
Observation at sea is carried out with the help of binoculars: preparation, attitude, passion and patience are the essential ingredients for an excellent whalewatching. Our watchers are always ready to scour the surface of the sea for fins, backs and breaths.
In case of no sighting of cetaceans, the Company gives the possibility to return a second time free of charge within a period of one year from the date of release.
Private transfer from embarkation point and back to your hotel, is included.
The experience starts in the morning after brakfast.

Florence – The City
Florentia—literally “florid city”—was the name given by the Romans to this settlement founded in the I century A.D. along the Arno river, at the foot of Fiesole, an Etruscan city whose ruins are visible on the hill which dominates the city.
The flowering of Florence in art, culture and international trade began in the 13th century and it reached its peak in the 15th century under the reign of the Medici family, who ruled over the city for more than three centuries.
Everywhere you turn in Florence, you find extraordinary works of art and architecture, which attract almost 8 million tourists every year—from the Palazzo Vecchio to the world-famous Uffizi Gallery to the Cathedral with its magnificent dome and the tower designed by Giotto. Along the river Arno, the Ponte Vecchio with its jewellery shops is a must for all those who pass through the city, as well as the splendid Boboli gardens across the river.
Florence is also an international wine and gastronomic centre, Chianti is its most famous local product together with the celebrated Fiorentina steak on the bone.
Download our in-depth pdf guide for up-to-date tourist and general information on Florence, including the best places to stay, where to eat, drink, and party, as well as main attractions and must-have experiences in Tuscany’s capital city.

Classic Florentine Boat Private Tour
The history of this boat
The origin of this splendid vessel is still to be established, but it may date back to ancient times, when the more marshy waters of the Arno River and the narrower channel required a slimmer, flat-bottomed type of boat so as not to run aground in the shallows. The boat grew over the centuries in size due to the need to transport a large amount of materials for the construction of the city walls of Florence along the river, becoming the “barchetto boat” we know today.
Types of material
The absolute masters in the construction of this type of boat are undoubtedly the Venetian craftsmen, but also in Florence there were cases of boat builders. Different types of wood are used in the construction of this kind of boat, depending on their flexibility, hardness and porosity: strong oak for the sides (subject to bumps and knocks), fir for the bottom (lighter to improve smoothness on the water), durable cherry for the platform, larch for its water resistance and lime for the boatman seat.
Private boat tour on the Arno river
Cruising on the Arno is a fantastic alternative to see as many iconic sights as possible from a different and privileged vantage point. From the Ponte Vecchio to the iconic Florentine palaces, we are waiting for you to enjoy the splendour of our city.
Departure is from Piazza della Signoria, at a walking distance from your hotel.
